     This is a make shift bending brake consisting of the peice of steel you see across the top as well as a peice that just fits inside the bend. After being clamped together, a rubber mallet was used to to make the bend. The louvers and bolt dimples you see in this picture were pressed in prior to making the bends.
     A peice of .120 wall steel tubing was chucked in the lathe, and internal threads as well as a relief on the outer end for an o-ring were machined.
     In the 3rd photo, the tube is being used as the thread guage when machining the filler cap. Click photos to Enlarge.
 
     
     
 
 
       An o-ring groove was added after the threading to finish the lathe work on the cap. Then the cap was set up in the milling machine, and the finger groove was cut using a ball mill on each side leaving a rib on the center of the cap.
