
1. This project started with this inexpensive air hammer. Although I have the machine tools that would make this a lot faster and easier, I'm going to show how it can be done completely with hand tools.


2 & 3 With material in hand, I started by cutting the clamp parts from 1/4" x 2" flat to length. This can be center punched for the bolt holes.

4. For a neater appearance, I used the circle cutting attachment to radius the corners, and then I drilled the holes.

5. Pipe fitters use a wrap-around to put a line around pipe or tube square to the centerline. This is a poor man's wrap-around. It's the metal part of a 4" pipe coupler with the hose clamps and rubber insert removed.
